
Boy Scouts of America Mission Statement
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by
instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
The Boy Scouts of America is the nation's foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training.
In the future Scouting will continue to:

Instill in young people lifetime values and develop in them ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law;
Train young people in citizenship, service, and leadership;
Serve America's communities and families with its quality, values-based program.
Troop 7 Announcements
February 10th, 2010
· The annual FOS (Friends of Scouting) Campaign presentation is being scheduled for Troop 7. Ticket money for the DCA banquet on Feb 26th, can also be applied toward the annual FOS contribution.
· 2010 Jamboree: A Day trip is set for July 30th. Signup sheet at troop meeting. Contact Kevin Stewart for more information on trip details.
February Activities
· HIKING MERIT BADGE: Print out your merit badge application form and Hiking MB worksheets.
· Feb 6th was Church clean up. What a turn out for the troop! Everything was completed in 2 hours and everyone did a great job!
· Feb 7th was Scout Sunday and it was awesome at both services. Thanks to all that attended and sold tickets for the Pasta dinner.
· Feb 10th PLC meeting 6:15pm at CPC. Please be on time.
o OA elections. 15 to 20 minutes are needed. Min requirement is 1st Class and 15 nights of camping.
o Make up run for Personal Fitness Merit Badge STARTS at 6:30pm. Please don’t be late. After the run we can complete push-ups, sit-ups, flexibility and body composition.
o HIKING MERIT BADGE: will continue this week. Bring worksheets, MB application, and pen/pencil.
· Feb 17th Scout meeting at 6pm
· TROOP Camp out Feb 19-21 at Woodfield. See Trip masters J. Halligan and A. Snyder to sign up.
· DCA fundraiser at CCNC. Honor guards are Z. Jones, A. Kondziola, B. McKinley, and A. Mirian.
· Feb 26th Pasta Dinner fundraiser set up
· Feb 27th Pasta Dinner fundraiser
March Activities
· Mar 5-6, Junior Leadership Training at the Scout Hut.
· Mar 10th PLC meeting
· Mar 19-21 Washington DC trip
OA Activities
· OA elections are Feb 10th.
· Next meeting February 25th, 2010, 7pm at LDS Church
· March 19-21 spring Pow-Wow
· April 16-18 conclave (prepay at spring Pow-Wow).
· May 14-16 spring induction
ADULTS:
· SM and ASM Leader Specific Training being offered March 6th. See attached or below for more details.
· Wood Badge for the 21st Century Adult Leadership Course for 2010 needs applicants. See The Scoutmaster for details and applications.
· Adult trip advisers are needed for the calendar events.
