RECHARTER FOR TROOP 7: DUE FEB 7 It is time for us to go through the yearly process of “re-chartering” our troop. This process involves verifying vital statistics for each member (name/address/phone number) and paying our council for every member that wishes to be active in Troop 7 for 2012. Re-charter fees will be $50 for each scout and $20 for each Registered Adult—Due Feb 7. If members do not “re-charter” then they are dropped from our Troop 7 roster. Please see Mary Ott for questions/concerns. Payment goes to Sara Barton or Mary Ott. |
UPCOMING EVENTS
Tues Feb 7: PLC 7:00-8:30 PM Scout Hut. This meeting is for all scouts who currently hold a leadership position. Scouts MUST contact the SPL if they have to be absent chasesammons@me.com There is no regular troop meeting on this night.
Sat-Sun Feb 11-12: Winter Camping at Camp Reeves (near Carthage). $10 per person. Money and permission slip DUE JAN 31. Trip Advisors: Dan Decerbo/Don McKenzie. Scout Tripmaster: Keith Alvarez. Grubmasters: Jordan G.; Andrew C.; Andrew M.; Clay C.. Trip will focus on Scout Skills Tenderfoot through 1st Class.
Friday-Sunday Feb 17-20: Washington DC Trip. Trip Advisor Dave Lamblin; Trip Master Jacob D. Trip limited to 1st Class and above/no more than 16 scouts. $50 and permission slip due Jan 31.
Saturday, February 25 Troop 7 Annual Pasta Dinner Fund Raiser Deadline for Ad sales is Jan 24th. Donated items can be accepted up to Jan 31st. Ticket sales for the Pasta Dinner are ongoing (Jamie Denton).
Adult Assignments for the Pasta Dinner are attached to today’s announcements. These were discussed at last week’s parent meeting. Final Parent Meeting will be Feb 21 during troop meeting.
Scout Job sign-ups are ongoing with the SPL. If your scout signs up for set-up Friday night, please plan to stay with them and help.
Our custom at the Pasta Dinner is to provide a variety of desserts. On the night of the dinner, every scout should bring 1 dessert to feed 8 people according to the following assignment: Hawk 1 &2—COOKIES Panther 1 & 2—CAKES Beaver and Ferret—BROWNIES
Tues March 6: PLC Meeting at 6:00 pm (before crossover) at Community Presbyterian Church
Tues March 6: Troop 7 Webelo Crossover. ALL TROOP MEMBERS expected to attend in Class A uniforms to welcome new Webelos to Troop 7. 7:00-8:00 PM Community Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Every Wednesday: Food Pantry 8-11 AM (primarily for home schooled students)
Fri-Sat Feb 17-18 Camilla Festival: Assembly Hall in Pinehurst Village. Scout Volunteers needed Friday afternoon for set up: after school until 4:30pm. Also, on Saturday from 9am-5pm.
Scouts can sign up for a shift (9-noon; noon -3pm; or 3-5pm)Point of Contact is Bob Boone. Sign-ups in progress.
Sat March 10: Keep Moore County Beautiful Paper Drive 9am-3pm at the Kangaroo Gas Station near Fresh Market. Point of Contact is Elizabeth Sammons.
